John Terry vs Roy Keane: Aston Villa assistant laughs off touchline clash with opposite number as he laps up crucial win at Nottingham Forest
John Terry saw the light hearted side to his touchline clash with Roy Keane as he took to Instagram to celebrate Aston Villa’s 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night. The two assistant coaches were involved in a heated spat towards the end of the first-half of the Championship clash at the City Ground.

The Chelsea legend had taken exception to a challenge from Forest forward Karim Ansarifard on left-back Neil Taylor, making his feelings known to fourth official Andy Woolmer, much to the annoyance of the Forest assistant.Keane, who enjoyed many a battle with Terry during his trophy-laden spell at Manchester United, left his dugout to remonstrate with the former England defender.Terry gave as good as he got though, explaining his grievances to the former Republic of Ireland number two – who unsurprisingly was having none of it.Accompanying a picture of the pair’s touchline clash, Terry wrote on Instagram: “3-1 @avfcofficial. The official Aston Villa account were quick to respond to Terry’s post, saying: “So what if I wear white boots? They are (ok emoji).”Terry replied to the comment with laughing emojis, while his former Chelsea team-mate Cesc Fabregas also weighed in commenting,”Go on JT.”Villa favourite Gabby Agbonlahor made his feelings clear which side his was on as he said: “You’re all talk (boring emoji).” Terry responded to the free agent by saying “sticking up for you mate” (laughing emoji). With the race for the play-offs hotting up it is not known who will have the last laugh out of the pair come May, with Villa and Forest two and three points off the top six respectively. But for now Terry has the bragging rights – he’s made that much clear!
