West Ham United are set to be one of the busiest Premier League clubs as Thursday night’s transfer deadline approaches.The Hammers will sign at least one player – and others could be shown the door before the mid-season market slams shut.
6Maxi Gomez (Celta Vigo)
One move that is edging closer to completion is a 40million move to sign Uruguayan striker Maxi Gomez.Gomez has been on fine form in LaLiga this season for Celta Vigo – netting nine times in 19 appearances for the club.Gomez will sign for the Hammers and will be loaned straight back to Celta, however, as the Spanish outfit are unwilling to let their main striker go without finding a replacement.
6Olivier Giroud (Chelsea)
West Ham have also enquired about the availability of Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.The French World Cup winner has just six months left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge.He has struggled to cement a place in the starting XI and his opportunities for game-time look scarce following the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain.According to theDaily Mail,several clubs, including West Ham, have asked about the former Arsenal striker.The 32-year-old has reportedly rejected the chance to join Chinese club Dalian Yifang.
6Danny Drinkwater (Chelsea)
West Ham have also set theirsights on signing Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater.Manuel Pellegrini wants to add another midfielder to his squad and the Blues outcast is seen as the number one option.Drinkwater has made just one appearance for Chelsea this season, and it came before the league even started in Chelseas Community Shield defeat to Manchester City.talkSPORT sources have learnt that West Ham could test the water with a bid to sign the midfielder on loan for the remainder of the season.
6Lucas Perez
According to BBC Sport, West Ham have received a loan offer from Bundesliga side Schalke for Lucas Perez.The striker has struggled since his 4million move from Arsenal, having scored two goals in ten appearances this season.Schalke sit 12th in the Bundesliga and face Manchester City in the Champions League in the last-16 stage of the competition.
6Reece Oxford (Heerenveen)
According to Sky Sports, Eredivisie club Herenveen are interested in signing the youngster on loan until the end of the season.However, West Ham have reportedly rejected the move for the 20-year-old and want to keep him at the club.Nottingham Forest have also shown interest in youngster – who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach.
