Iborra has agreed a four-and-half-year contract with Villarreal which ties him to the LaLiga club until June 2023.A statement on the Villarreal website read: “Iborra is an experienced midfielder who is dominant in the air. He has quality in front of goal, timing his runs from deep to perfection. He is a prestigious signing for the Yellow Submarine.”Iborra found himself on the fringes of Claude Puel’s team this season, starting just three Premier League matches, but did feature in their Carabao Cup ties, scoring in the 4-0 victory over Fleetwood.Leicester said in a statement: “The football club would like to thank Vicente for his contribution over the past two seasons and wish him and his family the very best in the future.” Iborra posted a farewell message on social media, in which he included a tribute to late Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, who was killed in a helicopter crash at the King Power on October 28.“It’s time to say goodbye. It’s not easy for my family and me, but we feel that it’s time to come back home,” the midfielder said.“Along this season and a half, I’ve felt privileged for wearing this jersey and playing beside these great supporters. You made me feel one of yours, thanks from my heart for your unconditional support.“Thanks also to all the employees, managers, coaching staff, team-mates and everyone who makes our day by day easier.
