Liverpool fans offer Sadio Mane messages of support after Senegal star leaves pitch in tears on international duty
A distressed Sadio Manewas consoled by team-mates as he walked off the pitch in tears after helping Senegal beat Equitorial Guinea.The Liverpool star completed the entire 90 minutes of his side’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier win and, on seeing the images, many feared he had injured himself.1

Mane’s distress is related to his performance in the game, according to Senegalese media

However, Senegalese media calmed these concerns, with Metro Dakar suggesting Mane’s reaction was based on his performance.Mane, who sustained a thumb injury during the international break last month, missed a chance in the second-half which was met by boos from supporters. This is the latest piece of criticism Mane has faced in his homeland for failing to achieve the same form for his country as he does for his club.But Mane can do no wrong in the eyes of most Liverpool fans and these Kopites took to Twitter to show their messages of support to the forward.
